Own Art calls for new galleries to join the scheme
Own Art, the interest free loan scheme for purchasing contemporary art and craft, is calling for applications from galleries across Scotland to apply to join the scheme.
The scheme was launched in Scotland in 2004 and provides budding collectors and art lovers with an interest free loan from £100 to £2000 which can be used to purchase a wide range of original, contemporary artwork, from paintings and sculpture to jewellery, furniture and textiles, at participating galleries across Scotland.
The loan can be used to buy several items at once or be put towards more expensive pieces, and is repaid in 10 equal monthly instalments.
37 galleries across Scotland are currently participating in the scheme, from Ingleby Gallery in Edinburgh to An Lanntair in Stornoway, featuring artwork by some of the country’s most talented contemporary artists.

The scheme has been a resounding success since it was launched in Scotland, with Own Art sales in 2007/08 alone totalling almost £500,000. |
