International round-up
The Scottish Arts Council is delighted to see some of Scotland finest talent and arts professionals being represented at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference and the International Society for Performing Arts Congress in New York early in the New Year.
Scotland’s talent will again be represented in New York this January at the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) conference. Running from the 8 until 12 January 2010, the conference brings together performers in every musical style for four days of music and seminars.

The conference includes the Northern Realm showcasing event, featuring nine performers from Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, England and the U.S. The Scottish Arts Council are delighted to be showcasing Kevin Henderson, a traditional fiddler and Nuala Kennedy, a flautist and traditional singer. |
Kevin, originally from Shetland, has played with two of Scotland’s best known international ensembles - Fiddler’s Bid and the Boys of the Lough. Kevin will be flying the flag for Scotland this year as part of the Nordic Fiddler’s Bloc alongside band members Anders Hall (Sweden) and Olav Mjelva (Norway).
Nuala is a traditional singer and flautist playing a range of music from Scotland, Ireland and beyond. In June of this year, Nuala toured Scotland as part of a Scottish Arts Councils Tune-Up tour with Philippe Guidat forming 'Voyage de Nuit'.

Nuala works extensively in the UK, Europe and Ireland and is known in the US through her time as artist in residence at the OMI World Arts Center in New York where ‘Voyage de Nuit’ originated. |

Three Scottish Fellows have also been selected to attend the International Society for Performing Arts (IPSA) Congress in New York running from the 12-14 January 2010.

Jackie Wylie (The Arches), Matthew Studdert - Kennedy (Edinburgh International Festival) and Alasdair Campbell (Tolbooth) will be attending the annual Congress as part of Scottish Arts Council's scheme to introduce emerging performing arts entrepreneurs in Scotland with this prestigious international network. |

The Scottish Arts Council in partnership with Intercult, Aberdeen City Council, Marseille-Provence European Capital of Culture 2013 and Umeå European Capital of Culture 2014 are delighted to announce an international research and development opportunity for artists and arts organisations from across disciplines to participate in The Four Corners of Europe, a new transnational European project focusing on coastal towns and resorts. |

The project aims to research and develop a new wave of commissions and presentations with international artists. Proposals are developed via artistic ‘blind dates’ with artists from Scotland and other parts of Europe as part of the research and development process.
Deadline for applications is Monday 5pm, 25 January 2010.
